Powder Coating

Greenfield Finishing runs a powder coating operation built around controlled environments, automated application technology, and a complete multi-stage pretreatment system. The setup supports repeatable Class A finishes, efficient color management, and consistent adhesion across OEM production volumes.

Environmental Room

Temperature and humidity controlled Environmental Room conditions all materials before coating. This prevents contamination, stabilizes substrates, and supports Class A surface specifications. The line accommodates parts up to 72 inches in length.

Application System

Application areas utilize up to 10 reciprocating automatic guns, supported by manual spray operators for complex geometries. Interchangeable color modules enable fast color changes and optional material reclamation for efficient production.

Pretreatment

Pretreatment is performed in a stainless steel, six-stage wash system using Iron Phosphate and a Non-Chrome Sealer. This improves adhesion, enhances corrosion resistance, and reduces environmental impact while meeting OEM requirements.


E-Coating

Greenfield Finishing provides a high-volume E-Coat operation built around automated material handling, controlled pretreatment chemistry, and consistent epoxy application. The system is designed for efficiency, repeatability, and strong corrosion-resistant performance across large batch runs.

Automated Transfer

E-Coat is applied using fully automated slide-rail transfer systems that move multi-tier fixtures through each process stage. Fixtures travel in uniform, repeatable cycles through pretreatment, epoxy coating, rinsing, and curing, ensuring even coverage and stable throughput.

Pretreatment Stages

Lines incorporate nine stages of pretreatment chemistry, including Zinc Phosphate and a Non-Chrome Sealer. This sequence prepares the substrate for high-quality coating adhesion and long-term durability while maintaining environmentally conscious process control.

Epoxy Application

Greenfield Finishing applies PPG 8th Generation Epoxy, formulated for corrosion protection and consistent film build. The system is optimized for efficiently processing smaller part sizes at high volumes and competitive production costs.
